Does j2 background check decline you if they see you’re still employed with j1?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Thoughts on putting 5% down on a townhome in SoCal (expensive market) and then renting some of the rooms out while you also live there? Real estate in SoCal is crazy so I worry that i might be over levered? I want to start building equity since rent has risen so much? The monthly mortgage is going to be about 75% of my take home every month if I don’t find renters. Curious to see if anyone think this is risky or a normal thing to do in an expensive market?

I’d like some help evaluating the best deal. Airbnb potential house/ back house in Texas (furnished for $570k) Airbnb would break even (~3600)and most of not all of mortgage while I live in the back unit. Turnkey but not sure about appreciation or value. OR triplex for $625k that generates 4500/month, it’s in a questionable street in an amazing zip code.

I probably have 3-4x times my 6 month emergency savings in my savings account (with no upcoming major purchases). Have been slowly DCA $1000k / month into VTI in brokerage account. The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.

Anyone with two full time roles run into the issue of having conflicting meetings? What do you do?

I really want to get a second job but I am scared of losing my current one. Both companies are in same field, although not direct competitors so I know it’s technically “not allowed” however, this is the only way for me to get that $$ since I am not paid all that well.

Of course I won’t tell a single friend/coworker. Only my partner. And I don’t post work stuff on social media.
