1) when teams show you work, don’t say what doesn’t work, try to find the germ that does
2) help make it clear that you’ll pull them back if they go to far. Then give them license to do so
3) don’t have a solution in mind when you look at work
4) make sure they have clear briefs and enough time to work on things
5) set the tone that creative isn’t secondary to strat or keeping the client happy
6) make it fun. Laugh and be excited about ideas.
7) help them find ways to actually get stuff made. Use your connections to find cheaper ways or better vendors in production.
8) share stuff that’s not just an ad that is exciting
9) simplify things so they know what they’re being asked for
10) remember that you were a junior once too
11) see the opportunity in things. Be excited by that and explain why.

Sit everybody down on a weekend and make them watch Cannes lion case studies they’ve all seen before- because there’s literally a free website with years of them cataloged. Do that for hours then just point out that we should be doing that kind of work. Pretty easy.
