How they communicate or say they like to be communicated with. Situational questions, “Disagreed with a decision” or “give/get feedback”. They don’t have to be a copy and paste of our current team, but we do want some level of gelling with everyone else.
I always have the team meet anyone that we might hire. I can usually tell how they vibe during that time. Hiring someone that doesn't vibe well with the team can backfire really quickly.
I think it requires having a decent understanding of the current team and their communication style. It's hard to match the cultural fit if you don't know the type of people currently on the team. If you have a team of introverts, for example, you'll probably not want to hire a chatterbox, or vice versa.
