For me, burnout felt like a total lack of motivation, even for things I normally enjoy. Rest didn’t recharge me, it just gave me more time to dread going back. I knew it was deeper when even weekends didn’t feel like a break anymore.
It starts off like that, which yes very much could be burn out, and then it just gets worse and worse—until it completely breaks you down. I had to quit my job because of this, though my burn out came from the job + a truly narcissistic manager. I highly recommend taking a vacation or some time for yourself. I burned myself out for 9 months, and it has taken me three months of being unemployed to feel almost human again. Right in time for the worst possible time to be applying to a new job, so I recommend not doing that either 😅
The tell tale sign is it just gets worse, you start to get a bit more numb to things, maybe a bit more irritable… to the point where the exhaustion feels permanent and everlasting.
With lack of energy and feeling tired. Id advise going to the GP for a full checkup. Could be vitamin deficiency, oddly Irish people frequently are low in vitamin D. FYI you get a lot from sunshine and we're in Ireland.
If your company has an employee assistance program give it a call and see if they can get you some professional help in identifying if it's burnout and some in context ways to deal with it
I belive you need some vitamin D
