Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

I made the move internally with my firm from audit to compliance. Our internal compliance is housed under risk management, but I’m sure it’s more profitable to do some sort of advisory related compliance. Depending on what you did within public accounting you should be able to talk up your experience to be applicable to the skills/services needed in a compliance role.
Okay that’s good to know. I like the benefits of working at a PA firm, I just don’t like working with clients 😂. When I was in public, I had a dual tax/assurance role, but I mostly did tax. And now my compliance role is in industry. I’m starting to see that there are a lot of opportunities in compliance outside of the medical and banking industries so that’s exciting to me
