I struggle with confidence on occasion, and I hate feeling like that. I am pretty good at being optimistic and positive so when I'm doubting myself, I just start with some positive affirmations. I review where I am in my career and all the growth made to get here. I also have a fantastic colleague who will snap me into shape when I start feeling anxious. She is an amazing friend and I've said to her on more than one occasion that she should be a career and life coach.
Do it again, again, again, and again. It’s like exposure therapy.
I think about how much I’ve prepped and my male peers who just show up and make at least 30% more than me and are put up for promotion before me, that provides me perspective—I know waaaay more than them, if I’m actually able to get a word in, that makes me confident.
I hired a coach to help me go to the rots of why I in some situations had to much self doubt and anxiety. And we worked out a game plan from what I learned about my self and how to handle these situations.
