I try not to prepare too much. I look up the company, read their mission statement and value statement a couple of times, read the job listing a few times, and come up with some questions to memorize. The whole thing probably takes about 30 minutes. If I overpay, it makes me more nervous for some reason.
I recently just had my first few interviews in over 10 years and I used ChatGPT to look up industry specific interview questions and then recorded myself answering them on the spot to see how I did without prep. I replayed them, made notes on where I could improve, and I definitely feel it helped.
Something to always keep in mind is that interviewers often want to see how you think. So it's not like a quiz where the goal is to have a precise and correct answer. So it's better to learn about the company and be able to address concerns they may have rather than cramming with a lot of information. Something I've heard recruiters say is that some candidates don't show a lot of enthusiasm, and that can be held against them. And it's also good to be personable and present yourself as someone who would be good to work with.

I'd recommend preparing and practicing answers to the most common behavioral questions asked in job interviews, which include:
1. Tell me your greatest accomplishment on the job.
2. Tell me about a time when you were required to work with a difficult person. How did you handle the situation? What was the outcome?
3. Why are you looking to leave your current position?
4. What was the biggest mistake you've made on a job? How did you handle the failure?
5. What do you want to get out of your next job?
You'll also want to be ready to answer "Tell me about yourself." This question is tough for a lot of job seekers, but you can be ready to answer it ahead of time. You'll want to inquire about whether the interviewer wants you to walk through your resume or provide a summary of yourself as a professional. If you walk through your resume, you'll want to include numbers that show how you have brought value to each company you've worked for. The professional summary consists of your answers to these questions: What problem(s) do you solve for employers? How do you do it (i.e., what's your strategy/methodology)? What do you want to do next?
It's critical to practice your answers multiple times ahead of the interview. You can even do a few mock interviews with someone you trust to help strengthen your answers.
I wouldn't recommend using ChatGPT to prepare for interviews.
