My salary is $160k. I just became eligible for 401k contributions (6 months after start date), with my employers matching set forth below (total of 4%, or $6,400). I have about $150k cash to invest. Already have my emergency fund, safety cash (because I’m risk averse and want extra cushion). My net worth (excluding this and other cash) is close to $600K, with about 60% in 401K and the rest in index funds. I’m not a homeowner and don’t plan to be any time soon. $130k is not enough to cover living expenses for me and my wife in N. Va. We always overspend by around $300 every month. We are doing this thing where we live on my income (the 130k) and save all the money my wife makes, because I was naive enough to think I made a lot of money. Looking for some recommendations on my finances. I’m 25 and am planning to start a 2 year grad program full time in fall 2022. To cover my living expenses and school fully for 2 years could cost between $65K-$100K depending on programs / scholarships.
