I got an offer from infosys for 5.5lpa+75k bonus, & now I have another offer of 7.5k+80k from globallogic. I prefer to join infosys as it is in my home town.
But the catch here is I accepted the offer from infosys, can i talk to HR again to revise my offer as I am expecting at least 6.5lpa. I am afraid if they revoke my current offer also. Yoe:1.5y / cctc:3.85lpa
Please suggest , what is the possibility of the offer getting revise

Hi all, had a situation I need some help with. PE fund owned interest in a bank that was a CFC that has 965 PTEP. Recently sold off part of it's interest and the bank is no longer considered a CFC. Under the new PFIC regs, I believe it qualifies as a PFIC. How would distributions be treated seeing as it would still qualify as a specified foreign corp?

Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). After bouts of depression from girl problems (🙄), issues within immediate family, being disappointed expectations I had for myself, etc. I’ve been working on bettering my situation over the years. Curious how compensation works for counsel at top-tier law firms. How much do counsel make? Is it relatively set/lockstep salary, or does it vary significantly based on hours? Do counsel have hours requirements?

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner?
