Brainstorming on ways to increase connectivity among teams despite the 100% remote environment we find ourselves in at the moment (virtual HH seem to be getting old). Any ideas and/or things you have implemented at your company?
Any budget friendly WFH chair recommendations? Was looking at a gaming chair, but bad reviews have put me off.
2 years out of undergrad and planning to apply next year. I had a great relationship with an SM and decent with a partner, but since starting remote work due to COVID I have had virtually no face time with leadership bc of the size of my team and my responsibilities. Mostly just venting but ugh how do I get LORs!!
All clients need to explain conference call etiquette when WFH to their employees. So far I’ve heard people washing dishes, talking to their spouse and kids, making lunch, and playing with pets...
Any recs for a semi-affordable, last minute get away? I’m still 100% remote, I’m burned out & I need a change of scenery for a few days. I’d plan to go for a long weekend & then work remotely for part & take part completely off.
Do you check emails on the weekend because of covid wfh situation/generally? Or check email but wait to reply on Monday unless an urgent response is required?
Contemplating making a move at some point this year since the market seems so hot. Trying to assemble a list of companies to target. I care about great TC and in having decent WLB (20-30hrs/wk, nothing crazy lol), stability and being fully remote. Have been a backbend Dev majorally and now a senior tech guy or an engg mgr. Not looking for new startups due to volatility factor. YOE: 12 Anyone have suggestions for me to look at in India or foreign companies offering a respectable overlap

Best office chair?! I’m WFH until at least Jan 22 and I need to upgrade my desk chair. Suggestions? I know the Herman Miller is awesome but would love to spend less than $1k. Around $400ish
If you are feeling sick or something during the day and WFH, do you feel comfortable napping it off and then getting back to work and working late if needed? I have friends that say this is totally normal and okay but I feel weird about it and can never actually rest to feel better if I do lay down
I’ve secretly been loving the WFH situation and it’s been great spending more time with my kids and seeing them throughout the day. I’m really not looking forward to going back to the office when we reopen. Anyone else in the same boat? I’m going to be so sad.
I see a lot of posts of overworked people here but anyone underworked too now that we are remote? Anyone working just 2/3 hours a day and still getting great feedback?
How are you dealing with WFH and small children? I either need to cut my workload or completely disregard my children. I don’t want to be put in the mummy track. This virus is like the mummy trap.
Has anyone done new hire meet and greets in a remote setting? If so, were they useful? What went well and what went poorly?

I currently WFH. However I expect that we will return to the office by summer or fall. I live 1.5 miles away from work, but I don’t have a car. I want to avoid buying a car if possible. What are the best ways to get to work. I live in the city so biking is a little too dangerous for me. Any ideas?
What's the deal if you have a vaca planned but you are swapping firms and the vaca will take place while employed at new firm? You tell them during interview?
I am very conservative in investment. Have $650K in CDs/HYS, $50K in stock funds, and maxing out 401K. I have no debt except $520K of house mortgage @ 2.6% interest rate (house value is approx $1M). Does it make sense to pay out a portion of the mortgage or should I invest more in the market?

I’m taking the next two weeks off and really want to spend the time improving my looks for myself. Like everyone else this year has been tough and I completely stopped just about all beauty/health self care. What are some things you love to do to improve your appearance for yourself? So far I have: 2adays while trying new types of workouts, teeth whitening, at home hair treatments, mani/pedis!
i just had an excellent review with my supervisors. we are aligned i am ready to be promoted. i will be moving from project manager to senior project manager. the catch; my company has laid off 75% of its staff, and cut our salaries by 25%. timing is unclear, since we work in the live entertainment space. what is fair to ask for? i have 7 years work force experience, am the only one in my position, touch every creative deliverable the agency makes, and updated and streamlined 10+ processes.
I have been consulting for a tech company as a data engineer, and I am looking to make the switch to more of a data scientist or data analytics role. Any advice? I will soon have my masters in DS

Considering leaving consulting for an industry job. Have been here for ~10 months so would be required to pay back the signing bonus. Anyone have experience negotiating this, with new or old company?
