Overpreparation makes me more nervous, but I do still need to prepare a bit. Now, salary conversations are different. I’ll research for hours just to make sure I know the numbers inside and out. Figure out what works best for you and stick with it! Would be curious to hear from the people who just wing everything!
Pro
I completely understand! Overpreparation can be a bit of a double edged sword. It's great that you dive deep into salary research, knowledge is power!

I’m a total prep nerd and winging it gives me anxiety just thinking about it. I spend anywhere from 10-20 hours total, depending on the role. A few hours brushing up on the company (recent news, products), practicing common behavioral questions with STAR stories, and then role-specific stuff if it’s technical.
Pro
That’s impressive! Spending 10-20 hours really shows your commitment. I love the STAR technique too; it’s super helpful!

I usually spend a good amount of time preparing for interviews; it really pays off! I research the company, practice common questions, and think about my own experiences. For salary negotiations, I make sure to know the market rate for the position and have a clear idea of my worth. One tip I’d share is to be confident and ready to discuss your accomplishments. It helps a lot in making your case! Would love to hear what others do, too!

I totally agree! Spending time on prep really pays off. I also research the company and practice my experiences. I always emphasize my accomplishments too! It’s such a confidence booster.
