Hi I was just offered a CM Manager position at Evelance aka Anthem with moderate salary 100k with 10% bonus. I was previously making 110k with 10%. Recruiter said probably would not match my previous salary and I would have to justify why I want more that job offer. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I would ask that he submit the counter offer or to be reassign to another rep that would honor your request. Sounds like he is trying to make money off you taken a lower deal.

Always counter offer not sure why they are discouraging you to do so

I’m not sure exactly the title you’re talking about but the offered salary must fall within a minimum and midpoint range and in most cases, they offer somewhere in the middle of minimum and midpoint for someone new to the company. Rarely do they bring a new person on at the midpoint amount - this is what a previous director at the company told me. You are new, you are going to have to prove yourself to the hiring manager.

I am currently making 120k at bedside.

Damn. 120 is low? Cost of living must be insane

Whatever happens, if you take the job, please encourage your care managers to authorize more days at HLOC! Sincerely, someone with many Anthem denials at the moment…

As an RN case manager in an acute hospital setting, this made me giggle.

I would counter offer especially since you made more at your previous job unless you are okay with the pay cut

like

You were making 110k as a liaison?

Hey! I also interviewed for RN Case Manager (Elevance) and waiting to here back for a second interview with the hiring manager. They did ask me if I would be willing to do 93k, if I was offered the job. Any tips for next interview? Also, do you have any case management experience previously?

Is the position a care manager or as the manager of other care managers. If it’s a manager of Care Manager‘s I would definitely counter offer

Definitely low balling you for a director position. Need at least 125k ++

like

What is the update? Did you get to counter offer?

So what did you end up at? You stated in your org post the recruiter told you they wouldn’t match your current salary and now they did? I don’t know the level of your title so I’m sorry I can’t offer more insight.

like

A CM job with you experience should be at 115k so I would counter at 112. The recruiter should not know how much you make now. If you take the pay cut you might as well have asked your current employer for a raise to $115k for a promotion.
