For hourly gigs? Or day rates?
If it’s a day rate you charge per day so it doesn’t really matter.
For hourly, it’s a bit more complicated. Use your best judgment. There’s rarely an assignment that takes LESS than a full day unless it’s literally writing email subject lines then it’s maybe half a day.
Remember in a real agency setting, it could/should take you at least a full day to write 10 good headlines for banner ads.

They really never decide the hrs

Hello everyone.
Can anyone suggest me supply chain management certification and it is future proc and cons..

To all those who have got or trying to get international assignments. What skills do we need to showcase to our leads/managers and possess.
Also those who are managers what do you expect one should have in order to get this opportunity.
Please don't say bootlicking/politics/favouritism etc. Those might be there but what are real skills.
Please throw some light on this folks !!

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

I have a boneheaded question I’m pretty sure I know the answer to. My partner can’t use my Hilton Honors account for an upcoming stay he is going to book, right? He doesn’t need my discount or anything - was just hoping that he could get my diamond benefits.

Additional Posts in WFH Freelancers

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?

At what point do we publicly announce a minimum day rate under which no freelancer will go? The news this week about what C-level titles are paid is sickening. This is feudalism. Surfs unite!

I recently raised my rates after being told I wasn’t charging enough on here. Both of my main clients have already responded saying they either can’t pay me my new rate ($125/hour with 15 years experience) or are interested in “talking further.” So naturally I’m starting to freak out a little bit. I’m still pretty new to freelancing full time. What do I do/say? Do I hold my ground and hope for clients that pay me what I’m worth? Or lower my rates/standards and hope I can make ends meet! Help!

Does anyone else struggle with being a freelancer while also being a natural leader? I always feel in freelance roles that they would prefer I just shut up (even though my ideas have been praised and implemented plenty), esp within my own dept. In a full-time role, taking charge is expected, but I'm feeling like I should just sit back and take orders vs trying to be proactive or having thoughts in a freelance role.
