I have a stainless steel flat top and even that begins to look rough after sitting outside for a while. You can get grill cleaners for the inside, as well as stainless steel polish. If you rub wd40 on the stainless it’ll help prevent burn marks, stains, residue from rain, etc.

This is more about the tubes on the inside and the deflector plates. All starting to rust out. The visual look I don’t really care about. I’m also noticing more flareups which I can’t put my finger on why since I just cleaned it hard.
Curious… do you use a grill cover?
I’m a function over form person so I’m not particular about the outside. As long as it works I’m good.
As for the flat top: I have the Blackstone 36”. It is amazing to cook on. I can cook breakfast for a family of 6 at one shot. That being said, the exterior did not hold up well so if looks are a priority it might not be the best choice.

Nice. I’m considering that Blackstone or the Traeger which seems to get great reviews… though nearly double the cost.
Traeger is amazing. But also see if you can spend $50 on specific part replacements
If you’re looking for a smoker, Traeger automatically feeds pellets for temp control. It’s a godsend for an 8+ hour smoke. I have an Oklahoma Joe that requires me to toss in wood chunks onto the fire every 10-15min. The flavor is mildly better than pellets but it makes smoking during the week infeasible.
