How often do you think about leaving your firm before doing so? The market doesn’t feel great at the moment

Every day until the day I actually leave

Daily. Desperate to go but the market is tough

Multiple times a week. Nearly every day.

I thought about it casually for about 6 months. Then, in Jan 2023 I saw something I was like, woah, I could be a good fit. By the time I tailored my resume to submit it, the position had been taken down (it was literally a few days, ugh). I realized then in the disappointment that I was more serious about leaving than I'd thought. I ultimately did not find the right opportunity until Feb 2024, but every single day I'm so grateful to land where I did even though by the time I left I was in tears on a daily basis.

Everyday. Desperate to transition out of a purely litigation role but that seems to be all that’s available in this market.

Apply when you see things open up. You never know and just putting your résumé out there doesn’t take too long. If you end up not interested in the job you don’t have to take it. But I’ve seen great opportunities open up even when the market wasn’t great, just a matter of keeping an eye out and having your resume ready to go.

Been with my GF since college and we recently hit the 4 year mark. 1-2 years into our relationship I found out she had instances of micro-cheating (flirting with guys, talking to ex’s etc - but nothing physical) and we addressed it. To her credit and my knowledge, she’s been apologetic and great at respecting boundaries since, but I still feel the pain from her actions years ago (and have talked to her about it). Feeling lost about whether to just leave or to try and work things out

I have a question regarding taxation of joining bonus.

I recieved a joining bonus of 1 lakh from my previous employer in last fiscal year which was taxed.
I resigned from the organisation before completing 1 year... Which will be deducted from my last month salary.
How does taxation works in this case.

I never thought I would like a documentary about sports so much and even less one made by ESPN. I'm talking about "The Last Dance". This series shows you the success story of the superstar Michale Jordan and it's extremely exquisite, I recommend it. Who has seen it?

Any advice on a first year trying to transition from family law to in-house? I always thought family law was my path, and used to enjoy it, but it’s not the direction I want to head in anymore. I don’t think I even want to continue with any litigation work. I’m having a hard time finding firms that are hiring entry level associate positions that don’t require at least 3+ years experience in-house. Should I start at a business law firm to get experience working with corporations first?
