How reliable are AI interviews when the system does not accurately capture a candidate's responses? During an AI recruiter interview, I noticed several of my words were transcribed incorrectly on screen even though I was speaking clearly. It made me wonder how much those transcripts influence the final evaluation, especially when the errors are generated by the system. Could qualified candidates be overlooked because of transcription mistakes rather than the quality of their actual answers?

I feel AI can be awesome in alot of the ways it is invading our space but dear Lord it is maddening in others. Turning off the TV and lights, giving me the weather and sports scores, rewriting a draft, GREAT. These damn chatbots popping up and tests to apply for a job and crap reviewing my resume before anyone sees a thing I feel really suck and I think can really cause harm as they get "smarter". They are going to make us lazy and we won't detect flaws. I have older experience on my resume for a reason. A certain company shows working for a global company in 3 states for a big range of customers that I can use for special talking points. AI wants to remove it as being old.

I think with the interviews, not only do we need to memorize the key points now, we must also be following whatever word length/speed/tone their AI wants and that can get us eliminated even when perfect for the role. There is too much AI right now for the decisions being made with it.

like

AI judging experience it doesn't understand feels scary. The older experience isn't old, it's depth and AI doesn't know the difference

I refuse to get interviewed by a bot. That's where I draw the line.

like

That's same with me. First sign of a BOT interview I'm out, if a human won't spend a 20 minutes with me.

Yeah that’s definitely a risk. Was it vastly different or just a word here and there? Usually someone reading a transcription can put the pieces together, but if it’s vastly different, you might want to reach out to the hiring team.

like

Now we have to perform for the AI and the human.

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.

Hi everyone, a question to the tech industry at large.

Why are people so hesitant to hire disabled candidates?

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?
