How would you describe Seaport to someone who isn’t familiar with Boston? Funny and accurate takes are appreciated.

Imagine if an airport terminal gentrified itself

likefunny

TL;DR: The Seaport is where Boston goes to forget it was once a city of revolutionaries and starts acting like it’s trying to be Miami… in February.

Once a gritty stretch of parking lots and forgotten warehouses, the Seaport has been reborn as a hyper-gentrified, waterfront playground for tech bros, consultants, and anyone who thinks “Live. Work. Play.” is a personality. It’s the kind of place where a startup pitch, a $27 salad, and a cold-pressed juice cleanse can all happen before noon, ideally on a rooftop with Edison bulbs and a view of the harbor.

Here’s the vibe:
• Architecture: Imagine if someone gave a toddler a Lego set and told them to build “Dubai Lite.” All glass. All angles. No soul.
• Bars/Restaurants: Stunning views. Beautiful people. Drinks priced like you’re tipping the bartender’s therapist. Most menus include something truffle-infused and at least one raw bar option “curated daily.”
• Culture: There isn’t one. You won’t find any old Boston grit here — no Irish pubs with sticky floors, no Red Sox banners fraying in the wind. It’s all new money and brand activations.
• Transportation: Getting there is… a test of your love for novelty. Public transit options are limited unless you like walking through wind tunnels. Uber surge pricing is as predictable as the tide.
• Demographics: If Patagonia vests were a demographic, this would be their homeland. Add in fitness junkies, finance bros, and the occasional lost tourist wondering where all the actual Boston history went.

To its credit: the views are killer, the seafood is fresh, and if you’re trying to close a Series A funding round, this is your natural habitat.

But if you’re looking for old-school Boston charm, head back to the North End. Or Charlestown. Or literally anywhere with a Dunkin’ that predates 2015.

Transportation- 20+ years ago I used to take a ferry boat from North Station Lovering Wharf to the World Trade Center, I believe they stopped this but it was often an enjoyable way to get over there.

Have you ever slept in your office? Imagine that but you have to pay 4k a month for the privilege to do so.

Basically it’s just a bunch of consulting firms, empty allegedly habitable glass boxes used by Chinese speculators to evade taxes, and clubs/bars who have mastered getting you to pay $20 for dive bar-tier drinks and $40 covers to meet the most uninteresting people on the Eastern seaboard over music that could be used as background OST in Starfield.

I live there and I love it. The buildings are new, the water is close and a bunch of spots for food and drinks. There are 3 real downsides:
- There are limited real public transportation options
- The traffic jams in rush hours are pretty bad
- Summer crowds Thursday - Sunday

Honestly, I don't get all the hate. Gates gonna hate I guess

Is there any advantage to telling a company you are interested in working for in the future where you decided to accept an offer from? Or does it not matter? I accepted an offer a week ago with a great company (Company A) that for this season in my life seems like a great fit and only strengthens what I have to offer company B down the road. Company B just sent me a request for interview and I want to keep the door open with Company B but they were just very late in extending an interview.

He is nothing less than a con man & will promise you a lot to make you join the account. After that he will put you in testing projects. If you ask for a release, he will either not release you or release with a very bad rating and influence other project managers to not take you into their projects.

You will be left with no choice other than leaving TCS.
