Ikon is best for NE skiing only (Killington, Sugarbush, Sugarloaf, Sunday River, Stratton). Epic (Okemo, Mt. Snow, Wildcat, Sunapee) isn’t even close.
If you are doing more skiing out west in addition to the NE skiing, do Epic (Vail, Breck, Park City, Whistler). If you are considering doing a little skiing internationally in addition to the NE, do Ikon (Zermatt, Chamonix, Niseko)
Thanks all! Looks like Ikon it is! See you at Killington ⛷️
If you’re only skiing NE, there are some New England specific passes that may be better (New England pass). The cheaper ikon passes limit the number of days at each mountain.
Otherwise, pick which mountains you like skiing most. Personally I like the mountains on east coast - west coast that are on the ikon pass better
Ikon has a great partner network. This allows greater reach on a variety of resorts. Vail has a variety of resorts, but a different model.
I had the Ikon Pass last year and it was great. I think I had about 14 days on the snow between New England, SLC, and Banff.
Ikon also traditionally has shorter lines on the east coast
Epic mountains had insaaane lines last year. Idk if i’d do it again or recommend it to anyone
fwiw if you are a veteran Epic is less than $500
Usually buy both but epic is only worth a handful of resorts to justify the discount. I work in the industry and live in a big ski state.
