I woke up and realized what’s bothering me about my (biglaw) firm.

They’ve been so busy bragging about how great of a job they’re doing responding to client inquiries and guiding them (cont)

I work at a small, 3 lawyer firm. One of the lawyers is not barred in the state we practice. Because of this, the managing attorney has been having him draft motions and other legal documents and use my name and bar number and having me file them because I will have to appear in court for the matter. Is this normal? I am not provided time to review the materials before I file them so I end up working longer days because I am nervous to file something using my name and bar number.

What is the quickest and most efficient way to digitize all of my papers from pre-covid life?

Don’t think if my self as depressed, but definitely struggling to give a sh!t recently. Covid, WFH and the craziness of the political drama is definitely a factor, but can’t help but think age and career point is more so - struggling to get excited after 30+ years of the grind.

I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

I’m so happy, after 2.5 years, I finally received offers to break into a CRE😀 One role is CMBS - Capital Markets Analyst and the other is an acquisition/ development analyst type of role. Both forms offered $70k base. What’s the best way to negotiate to $77k+?
