I would start talking to recruiters and putting feelers out in your network. Lateraling as a senior associate is much easier than lateraling as a junior partner with no book. But if you don't see a future at your current firm, start looking now. I just wrapped up a lateral search that took nearly four months.

Just say you're looking for new opportunities, etc. People leave jobs all the time; no one should assume you're getting pushed out. Good luck!
For additional context, I’m currently in good standing at my firm, but I’ve seen others get pushed out around my year, so there is some concern that I might be on the chopping block in the next 6-12 months. To get ahead of this, I may start reaching out to recruiters.
Instead of talking to a recruiter, why don’t you have a candid discussion with your your partners? If you’re right they’ll welcome it because they’ll have an opportunity to send you off without paying a year of 9th year salary.
It sounds like you don’t trust these people. If it were me I’d have an honest conversation about why you think they’re leading you on. Depending on how that goes I’d then start looking and tell them that you’re looking so they can help you transition out.
