In some places yes, they hold that standard usually because their clients demand it. But most places will substitute your degree with years of experience for the most part, so you should be fine with landing somewhere.
Perhaps this should motivate you to complete your formal degree. So many online options to consider.
That’s the standard they hold everyone to it’s likely possible😞. Would they pay?
@HR Director 1, thanks for that advice. That was exactly what I want to say. What you need to do now is to stop wondering why they made this decision and start doing what they asked in their must have- a degree. Engage HR again regarding what type of degree you would require and other qualifications and licenses you would need for the type of role your want. You already know the job as such, you may have knowledge of up to 50% of what the actual degree would teach. Ask them for tuition support, get an online degree then let them know when you are done. Don’t get angry and move to another job. Since they already know you, you may have more support during the process of obtaining the online degree- time and money and even coaching. Please don’t spend time wondering, get the degree and take your rightful place quickly- years fly by quick!
I agree is quite bare minimum at this point. If you’re in any type of corporate job, they don’t want anyone that does not at least have a degree. It’s especially rare to find someone who is in any type of management position in corporate America without a degree.
