Not normal at all. Huge red flag. Every manager in my org kicks off work/presentation with "By the way this was prepared by" or in partnership with or this is due to the great work by. I can take no credit for this. AND their name is early emblazoned on the slide.
Are you in a very old/traditional industry?
(sorry you're going through this, I don't have any useful advice other than to try to have conversations about it with your mngr).
people won't recognize the true value you bring to the org if no one knows the true impact you bring. it caps out your promotion track, earning potential, and measurement of success.
Definitely not normal, I always showcase my team. Each one is smarter than me in some capacity, and deserves credit.
When everything is finalized and task is completed, management will take my work either my management or someone else would publish or utilize my effort with their name. I feel like I am being sandwiched between upper management and team working under me. They dont want my work to be shown by my name in front of senior leadership like VP. Its been happening with almost everything I do. Director tires to avoid including me in departmental discussions. I realized when I had to schedule and lead a meeting coordinating some important departments because my manager was on PTO. There was discussion on that meeting and most of the work that I do was labeled with other people’s name. I didn’t feel good at all about it. Just want to get everyone’s thoughts that if its normal for someone at my position or its a bit too much.

Oh no. When my direct reports produce work that is a shared effort, every contributor gets credited, every time.
One way to get credit, if you don’t plan on leaving is to add your name into excel/word/PPT files and lock them. If they want to use them, then they need to ask for you to unlock them. Not saying I’d recommend that, but you need to be given credit for your work. Otherwise, you need to leave.
