I am an auditor now but interested in becoming a professor at some point in my future. Has anyone gone back to school to get their PhD? What is that process like and how long do universities prefer that you work before applying? Any insights or experiences are helpful

There is a doctoral scholars program that exists to help find people with actual experience to fill the need for academia, but there’s looks for three years (https://www.adsphd.org/apply). I guess that is what they considered the sweet spot, but doesn’t mean there is a right answer. You’ll need a recent GMAT/GRE score (within 5 years) and letters of recommendation - academic recommendations preferred, but professional also accepted. I’m considering this as well and have done a bit of research but am a bit more removed from school and therefore longer time since any interaction with past professors

Hi everyone! I will be going through my first whiteboard/case-style interview for the first time (I was converted from an intern to full time at my current company). This marketing associate position would require some level of excel knowledge specifically on Pivot Tables & VLookUps for email campaign analysis. What’s your experience with interviews like these, and any tips for a first-timer? Thank you in advance!

Asking coz I am Really exhausted with interview prep and just want to take a ⏸. Any suggestions or advice?

Starting full-time @ MBB this month. I’m really interested in recruiting growth equity (GE) at some point. I’m pretty familiar with PE recruiting but not sure how growth differs. Anyone have perspective on any of the following: 1- Does GE recruit on cycles? If so what is the typical timing? 2- Are modeling tests standard as part of the interview process? 3- How are consultants perceived in the industry? 4- Do large GE firms utilize headhunters? 5- Do large GE firms have operating roles?

One year out from applying and wondering if it makes sense to "start" applications at my target schools so I can get a feel for the types of questions. Is this a good practice, or could it appear like I didn't fully "commit" and come back to bite me when I actually do apply?

Aside all the usual bumfuckery of this Trump ‘interview’, I’m wondering what the hell happened to Maria Bartiromo? I remember her as a non-political, competent financial journalist and reader of the markets on Fox Business. Now she is a propagandist of the Trump campaign. I wonder if she’s disappointed in herself?

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power. I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about. However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

Hi folks, I’m wish to break into tech sales as marketer. Have got consultative, training and prospecting experience in my own business but need to get back to traditional work. I’m based in Toronto and interviewed with a US SaaS company recently, open to networking with anyone in this area over a virtual hang! If you’re part of any exclusive “women in sales” groups please offer me an invite!

Has anyone heard of people being negatively impacted if their team think they might be leaving? I’m interviewing elsewhere and haven’t told anyone at the firm, but I feel like my managers can feel me pulling away. I’m trying to stay focused on my team while I’m still here but I just don’t care about audit anymore.

Though I’ve disclosed my epilepsy to a few in my firm, I don’t think it’s been recorded anywhere and I’ve always had a hard time telling people what should be done if I have a seizure that goes beyond, “please don’t call 911 unless it lasts more than 10 min.” As we go back to work, I will be sharing an office with another senior. I feel like it would be courteous to disclose the info to her in case something happens. Any tips, tricks, or specific advice? My seizures are ALWAYS grand mal.
