I am curious, how recruiters are doing in this market? I for one have been on an extended unemployment for awhile now and its discouraging. What's even more discouraging are these salary expectations.
Companies are letting go of their higher paid staff, or grandfathering them in.
New roles? Are being restructured, and salaries cut. ince Covid we seen record inflation costs, that never came back down. And these corporations think 55 - 65k is a liveable wage? Did we go back a decade or two?

I’ve seen the same trend. Roles are being restructured with lower pay, and I feel like it's hitting recruiters as much as anyone else-- even though everyone seems to be mad at us in this market. It feels like companies want senior-level work at entry-level pay. The inflation gap is totally real, and salaries just have not kept up.

Yes. I would agree with that statement. I can only speak for myself. But i get upset because in my personal experience yes! It is like they want advanced experience for entry level pay. But from a professional standpoint. Your job as a recruiter, I understand the business model. But you could put more emphasis on building relationships with candidates by advocating for them. You're kinda like the middle man. And are the first point of contact. You should have negotiating power to tell some of these companies their expectations are unrealistic before posting.

Anyone else just sitting around waiting for the ax to drop? I'm a soon to be 2nd year corporate associate who has seen work completely dry up. My utilization held pretty steady around 50% immediately after shutdown, but August was below 15 billables with no appreciable work in the pipeline. Aside from letting people know I'm available and doing pro-bono/CLE, it's starting to feel like a serious "covidcation" leading to termination.

I racked up about $20k in credit card debt due to a confluence of things happening at once (move, school expenses , etc ). I have a fair amount of paper assets but not a much free cash. Assets are down a decent amount with the current market cycle and I’d prefer not to sell them to cover the debt , although they easily could. Any suggestions how to handle the credit card debt without racking up tons of ongoing card interest?

Hello all, I have an offer from Quantiphi and another famous travel company which is building a technical arm for themselves. Both the companies are offering same compensation. HRs are calling for offer acceptance. I am leaning towards Quantiphi as the culture is well known to me.
But I have to decide soon. Should I accept both the offers and then decline one at the time of joining. I am new to this and find this a little unethical. Can someone help?
