I am in a Right to Work state, so the only reason I am in one is having access to legal services. Just in case.

I thought that would be a large reason to join.
It depends on the union, but here is what I get from mine:
Pros: mostly free legal representation for anything involving work (and a few free consultations outside work), free professional development opportunities, negotiation opportunities for salary and benefits, semiannual Q&A sessions with the governor, connections with teachers across the country, discounts on travel and various big name merchandisers.
Con: union dues, politicking, extra mail offering union sponsored life insurance (which would be a pro if I needed it but I don’t), and periodically needing to figure out who to vote for as a union rep.
It's nice to be in one in terms of negotiating raises and whatnot. You don't have to do it alone because you have thousands of other people who are working toward the same goal

That definitely sounds nice!
Advantages: Representation for labor issues, contract negotiations, training opportunities, network of associates.
Disadvantages: Dues, potential for job action even if you are not affected, another layer of "bosses" telling you what to do.

I didn't think of that. Are teachers on the Union board?
I have also had local unions address safety more than once. The problems weren't priorities to the districts until they heard from the union. Suddenly, the gaps in student and staff safety became more important.

That's so important!
Due process
Anyone can say anything about you. At least in a represented district you have a way to challenge things and a group to support you. If you aren't at a school that participates in retirement program I'd recommend that you reevaluate that decision as it impacts your future as soon as possible.
