For those of you working from home, do you know whether your coworkers will be throwing a baby shower for you? I feel like without being visibly pregnant to most people (since we are not in the office), I feel like I’m going to miss out on having one which is kind of a bummer since I’ve always gotten gifts for others.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I’m getting really discouraged by the process of finding a daycare. Currently 32w pregnant and it’s crazy to me that literally no daycare I’ve spoken to can speak to availabilities in the Spring. It’s nothing but waitlists. Should I have started looking sooner? Starting to get worried that my maternity leave will and and we will still have zero plan on how to get childcare.

I’m really struggling with mouth clicks when doing voiceovers. I make sure to stay hydrated and not eat before recording. What else should I be doing?

I’ve been depressed for years now and this past week I lost a dog I’ve had for 15 years; he was one of the only bright spots in my life and I’ve just found it so hard to focus or motivate myself on anything after this. I genuinely feel like I’m at rock bottom, Idk if I’m crazy to feel that way bc of a dog but I used to be able to control this and put up a front but now my depression and anxiety are starting to leak into my work conversations completely unintentionally, I wish this would stop :(

I recently quit my job. My VP was a narcissist and never really looked out for my upward progression even though he said he was my sponsor. Whenever I would do a solid job, he would always down play it or give the mid-level mgr credit even though other people / management acknowledged it. But we still got along. When I gave my two week notice, I did not meet up or talk to him (I cancelled a good bye 1-on-1 b/c I was over it) - sent a short thank you email instead and ghosted. Was this justified?

I'm joining EY India Technology Consulting in a week. However, EY is also my client, primarily we're involved in the maintenance of their internal user interface.

I can see a non solicitation clause in my current employer's offer letter than I can't join client within 12 months of my termination.

Are this non solicitation clauses followed in reality? Everyone's has been asking me to chill, since I'm joining as scon, not a manager or with any trade secrets. Opinions pls.

Ladies, I commend all of you who are pregnant and lawyering on the daily! I am 10 weeks pregnant and haven’t been working much since I left my firm in March. I tell my husband every day “IDK how anyone is pregnant and practicing law at the same time.” After a morning in court last month I was totally out of commission for the day. If you are still working as a lawyer full time and growing a human it is something to be proud of!
