I am Snowflake developer with 2.8 YOE and have worked only on SQL and snowflake.

1.What skills should I possess apart from SQL if I want to stay in Snowflake role only?

2. Is it good to continue my career in Snowflake or should I upskill and transition to AWS/azure data engineer.

I am asking this because in the market, there are many less roles for snowflake developers as compared to data engineer .

How do you as a Snowflake developer look at this?

If you're already good with SQL and Snowflake the best next step is to learn and implement dbt. Snowflake plus dbt is in high demand and companies are actively modernizing their data stack with this combo.

I believe I need to improve my Snowflake and SQL skills more.

Sure , as per your advice I will start learning dbt also.

What's your tech stack?
Should I focus just on SQL snowflake dbt or also think of transition to azure/ AWS data engineer roles?

Currently awaiting an offer for a new sales role. Salary somewhere between 100-120, OTE 160-200 depending on base. I intend to ask about annual merit increases and what they have been previously, but was wondering if anyone had ever negotiated an annual increase based on inflation in addition to any performance based merit increases. Seems like a smart way to protect myself while times are so volatile and not get stuck with the typical 3% when inflation is 8+. Thoughts?
