I applied for a role I'm really hyped about, but it's been over two weeks with no updates on the portal. Is it weird to message the recruiter on LinkedIn, or should I just keep waiting? I don't want to hurt my chances.

You are probably fine to reach out after two weeks. Be polite and professional, and frame it as a genuine interest and wanting to know the next steps or any updates.

I’d message the recruiter. A polite check-in after two weeks is totally normal. Worst case, they don’t respond. Best case, you get an update and show genuine interest.

Message them. Worst case, they ignore you. Best case, they remember you exist. Waiting politely never got anyone hired.

How many times have you followed up already? If it’s only been once or twice go ahead and follow up again. Show them you’re still interested. Worst case scenario you already don’t have the job.

NFW- I just had a good laugh. Earlier today I was on a video conference call reviewing a Private Label Agreement template with a larger company who wishes to brand label products we develop and manufacture. We came to a very one-sided provision and my sales VP stated “for this one, how can we just say ‘hell no’ ...nicely?” The other person on the call said we can replace the wording with just NFW (no f@$* way) and I said “I will have to add that to the defined terms section so it’s clear”

When my job is to handle all the corporations issues does it ever get hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel? Like that this business will survive? It will get its next round of funding? This litigation won’t wipe us out… something’s I just become very pessimistic about the future of the company.

Any big pharma directors here happy to chat? I'm a postdoc and was suggested to apply to Sr/principal scientist or asso. med. dir. positions. I'd be excited for positions that straddle research & clinical trial development but job postings seem to be on either end. I want to look at data and draw decisions like go to trial or not. Need some insight on org. structure and how to go about finding a good fit? If it help, looking for north east positions. TIA!

There is an opportunity in another office to build out their business in a large industry that I identified. The office has very little client base within the industry. The partners do not have experience in the industry and there are no senior managers or managing directors in that office. As a SM4, how do I go about asking to build out that business with the hope that it’ll build a strong case and accelerate my path to partner?
