If you’re up to it, have a friendly conversation with your admin and simply ask what the criteria is for course assignments. Come from the approach of reflection and self-improvement (it’s less threatening to the admin). The response could be as simple as “they asked.” Or there may be other criteria you were not aware of. Take their answer (documented in writing if possible) and plot your course for the future.

I did ask my admin why. Believe me, it had nothing to do with meeting any requirements. If that were the case I would have gotten the higher level class. But I agree with you that asking about the requirements is always smart & especially getting it in writing. I plan on doing that going forward!

When I was a young teacher so many decisions were made based on seniority; now that I am high man on the totem pole, seniority is not a thing anymore. Slightly frustrating. Hmmm…Is ageism a thing?

Hi! New attorney here. Licensed in January 2021.

I have a seriously hard time working all day. I went straight through, so part of it is probably just that I've never worked in an office before, but I have the hardest time getting in all my hours. Anyone else deal with that fatigue? Or figured out how to conquer it?

I wish I could just work all day but it's not coming naturally to me. I walk, I take breaks.... but it's hard
