Is giving birth w/o the epidural really that crazy of a concept? People laugh at me when I say its very feasible...

My wife just did it last month. The whole world tries to make you think its the worst thing ever but its totally doable. The nurses and the doctor kept pressuring us to take the epidural all thru labor (like everytime she would have a cramp, they'd say things like "Oh, you wouldnt be in so much pain if you just took the epidural") but we stood our ground and did it without it! The best thing about it was she recovered from the labor pains in less than 2 days (she could walk and take a shower within less than 24 hrs).

Yes because you dont have a thick epidural needle pierced in your back plus you are not paralyzed from waist down so you can turn positions, sit up, walk and shower by yourself immediately after delivery

I am just very annoyed how everyone makes it seem like its impossible... if anything it’s better for the baby not to take anything

Why is it better for baby?

It’s not impossible but every pregnancy is different .

Also be aware, our bodies, compared to other mammals, aren’t very well suited for pregnancy - really, look it up

Feeling really lonely this holiday season and I think it's time for a change. I love my job but I'm realizing I devote too much time to it. I would really like to expand my social circle and potentially meet someone, but I don't really know where to start. Ideally my partner would also work in healthcare, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me. Ladies what should I do?? I'm a 32 year old woman with no kids.

My boyfriend has given soo many red flags over the past year but we’ve been trying to make it work. Heated arguments consistently every other week. We disagree on a lot of “expectations” in a relationship. He can be controlling and quick to get angry, and I just can’t take this emotionally anymore (esp when he blames me for making him angry). Tips on getting through the break up convo when you know it’s the right thing to do but you love them & it hurts like hell to end things?

Men: What does this mean? Been seeing him for a month. Asked if he is still seeking out other women. He said no and that he has been enjoying my company. I told him I don’t plan on seeing anyone else and he said the same. He brought up that he wants a serious relationship with me but feels he can’t right now because of a demanding new job. I told him I don’t want to rush into anything serious. He acts very couple-like when we see each other. I am not sure how to interpret this.

I’ve always been aware of a y guy’s “manhood” and don’t emasculate men. I am adamant about financial boundaries; I was taught that men shouldn’t be asking me for money as a lady and I followed this advice. However, in the instance that a partner might have a financial challenge and you sense that because he doesn’t really tell you, is it ok to offer a helping hand without him asking or should you let him communicate his needs and you respond how u can. Married for 14 years with 5 kids. Since the start, my wife has had anger issues. She’s not violent, but will go on ‘anger benders’ for days where she cannot be kind to me, stonewalls, and even leaves. Sometimes this is based on a bad argument; most recently, it’s based in a story she conjured up and believes about me having an affair with my neighbor, even though it is 100% false and I’ve tried to show her that. Is this a sign of a personality disorder? Or something else? How can I support her?

Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

So I have been seeing a guy for 4 months. We have a pay disparity.. he earns less than I do (by quite a bit). He has mentioned a few times that he’s worried I’ll get bored of him when I know he can’t afford the same things I can. I think we are beginning to move past this, but now he’s starting to mention things like ‘I am really broke this month’, and last weekend he told me his mum has lost her job and he’ll have to probably pay her rent. I have a lot of sympathy for his situation … tbc
