I can’t count how many conversations I’ve had with urban dwellers since getting into consulting about living in the country. Literally just explained how septics tanks and well water were real things to a coworker this morning lol. Any of you still live out in the sticks?

On acreage outside town. Still on septic and water comes from 700 ft down from a well. Also have horses on the property and a vegetable garden. My coworkers are shocked that I know how to change a tire let alone the more complex items like wells, septic tanks, and livestock.

Best part is enough space to target shoot and hunt on my own property.

OP. But you haven't gone full redneck until you duck hunt on the family pond using explosives. Its effective and the pond gets a little deeper every year.

If you get the chance to take them out to the sticks for a bonfire, try to get them to go cow tipping after they've had a few drinks.

That’s right E1!! 😊

I have 3 years of Experience working as a fullstack developer using .NET Core, Angular, React, and Postgres.

I have also done certifications in Machine learning using Python and Tensorflow, but I am unable to land an interview with Microsoft, even if my profile matches the job description.

Any nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Who here has been tearing up some boiled peanuts? Not those old nasty ones they overcook in gas stations either. I’m talking fresh picked and fresh boiled green big boys. One of my favorite eats this time of year!

Big fire anyone?

I go to a small gas station in a small town - the county seat of one of the smallest counties in TN. Went the other day. Was in line to buy gas (pumps don’t even have card readers)- and this old man slides by me, smiles, and says, “Got me a pizza! Now getting me some beer!” Love the energy. It was also 2pm on a Thursday. I said: “Sir, damn, I still have 3 hours, lucky you!”

Sorry for the barrage of posts, but this one is worth telling. Couple months ago, I found a gator hanging in my pond. I live next to a swamp so it’s not uncommon to have one wander through occasionally. This one was a little too big for my liking though. I have 3 dogs so I was worried Wally might try to eat one of them. I’m not fond of jail so I did the right thing and called a game warden to get a nuisance tag. Took 2 weeks to get it and by that time, Wally was nowhere to be found. Cont.
