For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. Sorry for the barrage of posts, but this one is worth telling. Couple months ago, I found a gator hanging in my pond. I live next to a swamp so it’s not uncommon to have one wander through occasionally. This one was a little too big for my liking though. I have 3 dogs so I was worried Wally might try to eat one of them. I’m not fond of jail so I did the right thing and called a game warden to get a nuisance tag. Took 2 weeks to get it and by that time, Wally was nowhere to be found. Cont.

Dollar Generals and the like are plagues on small towns and their businesses. It pains me to see the parking lots full in the back country. No healthy food, and I’ve been told that the locals in the place where I’m WFH always spend their whole paychecks there, especially on terrible food

I go to a small gas station in a small town - the county seat of one of the smallest counties in TN. Went the other day. Was in line to buy gas (pumps don’t even have card readers)- and this old man slides by me, smiles, and says, “Got me a pizza! Now getting me some beer!” Love the energy. It was also 2pm on a Thursday. I said: “Sir, damn, I still have 3 hours, lucky you!”
