Sorry for the barrage of posts, but this one is worth telling. Couple months ago, I found a gator hanging in my pond. I live next to a swamp so it’s not uncommon to have one wander through occasionally. This one was a little too big for my liking though. I have 3 dogs so I was worried Wally might try to eat one of them. I’m not fond of jail so I did the right thing and called a game warden to get a nuisance tag. Took 2 weeks to get it and by that time, Wally was nowhere to be found. Cont.

A few weeks later, I got up early to go fishing and saw him again. Grabbed the rifle and popped him (2nd shot was a hit, my eyes aint what they used to be on small targets lol). I had a buddy on standby with a couple catfish rods with snag hooks to help me get him out. He sunk, but I wasn’t 100% sure he was dead. I snagged him once, but not very good and he came loose and rolled down in the deepest hole in the pond. So in the water we went. My buddy is a transplant yankee from Indiana, but he’s crazy as hell so he was game to go swimming too. I grabbed my pig sticker just in case and we started looking. My buddy dove down in the hole and popped up like a cork hollering. “The bitch is still alive!” So up on the bank he went 😂😂😂. I figured his nerves were still twitching so I dove down to get him. I was right. He was twitching a little but he was gone. He was 7’ long and weighed about 70 lbs. Ended up getting about 15lbs of meat that we plan on cooking soon. The hilarious part of the story is how my cityfied coworkers reacted. They’re convinced that I slipped through the cracks in the Deloitte hiring process somehow. 😂😂😂

Lol! There are a couple that would attend. It’s nice to see urban dwellers that aren’t so quick to judge and are open to new cultural experiences. Especially those that may involve getting chewed on by a large reptile lol.

Any insight on Brewer (either office, generally curious about the firm). I assume comp after year 1 is discretionary, rather than lock-step, given the size of the firm. Would appreciate happiness, horror stories, of whatever “firm culture” falls between the two. DM me if you don’t want to share publicly.

I go to a small gas station in a small town - the county seat of one of the smallest counties in TN. Went the other day. Was in line to buy gas (pumps don’t even have card readers)- and this old man slides by me, smiles, and says, “Got me a pizza! Now getting me some beer!” Love the energy. It was also 2pm on a Thursday. I said: “Sir, damn, I still have 3 hours, lucky you!”
