I just had a colleague ask me my opinion on a few cars since she’s buying her daughter’s first car. Went through a few brands trying to get a sense of where her mind was, and as soon as I mentioned VW she said “oh, they’re owned by Mercedes and we had bad experiences with Mercedes years ago.”

What comically incorrect car things have your coworkers said to you about cars?

High performance wagons? Have under 2 years left on my m340 lease and really wish we got more wagons over in the States. Anyone have any recommendations for consideration? 2 kids fit fine in my car now,
but could use more space and do not want a SUV.

I have been a phlebotomist for the last three and a half years with quest. I have over 20 years of experience. And have been trying to transfer to a different state. I believe that I am being blocked from my transfer even though my manager approves it on paper. Is there any way I can find this out. If I can't successfully transfer I may have to look for work outside of my current employer.

I’m trying to transition full time into the Editorial realm, I have some experience, but I’ve had a very hard time getting full time work. So I’ve begun an online certificate program, in hopes it will give me a leg up, as my degree is in a different field. My question is has anyone done the same? And how do they feel it helped? And any other tips on breaking into full time editorial.

I can’t count how many conversations I’ve had with urban dwellers since getting into consulting about living in the country. Literally just explained how septics tanks and well water were real things to a coworker this morning lol. Any of you still live out in the sticks?

I go to a small gas station in a small town - the county seat of one of the smallest counties in TN. Went the other day. Was in line to buy gas (pumps don’t even have card readers)- and this old man slides by me, smiles, and says, “Got me a pizza! Now getting me some beer!” Love the energy. It was also 2pm on a Thursday. I said: “Sir, damn, I still have 3 hours, lucky you!”

Who here has been tearing up some boiled peanuts? Not those old nasty ones they overcook in gas stations either. I’m talking fresh picked and fresh boiled green big boys. One of my favorite eats this time of year!

Anyone considering relocating to more rural area in their current job or taking anther job to do it? This pandemic helped me realize how much I hate city life, and I’m considering such a move and wondering if anyone else felt the same?

Sorry for the barrage of posts, but this one is worth telling. Couple months ago, I found a gator hanging in my pond. I live next to a swamp so it’s not uncommon to have one wander through occasionally. This one was a little too big for my liking though. I have 3 dogs so I was worried Wally might try to eat one of them. I’m not fond of jail so I did the right thing and called a game warden to get a nuisance tag. Took 2 weeks to get it and by that time, Wally was nowhere to be found. Cont.

Dollar Generals and the like are plagues on small towns and their businesses. It pains me to see the parking lots full in the back country. No healthy food, and I’ve been told that the locals in the place where I’m WFH always spend their whole paychecks there, especially on terrible food
