Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

I use to work for Securitas...I personally don't recommend them based off my own experience with them. They wouldn't train me for an armed post that had been open for awhile so I took the time off to and paid for the training through IPS. Now, I'm working for Fiore Industries. I recommend either IPS or Fiore. My experience with both companies was much better than Securitas. Both also pay much more.
Damn 🙄 yeah cause when I originally inquired about Armed guards I never got put in touch with the Supervisor in that division and had to revisit it again with The DM a little more firm than the first and I got the answers I was seeking. I've been unarmed for 2 yrs now and have to renew in a few months, but I've strongly considered enrolling in the Armed Security class over at Stratus Defense ops in the immediate future. I'll look into your recommended agencies as well.
Thanks for your input.
Don’t go to allied
Yeah I already been scratch them off the list already a long time ago lol.
They’re all the same, and each company varies wildly between local branches. More than likely AUS is going to hold the most contracts, of course this can also vary, depending on your area. In my own, and in many areas of the country, AUS also tends to have the higher paying contracts. More contracts means a wider selection of posts and post types, it also means a quicker path towards promotion (up to a certain point). Personally though, I wouldn’t worry too much about the company’s national perception or footprint, and would instead focus on pay rate and posts that met the type of job requirements that I was looking for. Just keep a watch on job postings that fit those criteria and apply for the most appealing ones. If that’s AUS or Paladin or Paragon or Guarda, fine. If it’s a smaller, more local company, so be it.
I work for allied security same Scotland yard security...i get more hours and over time with allied. Allied has a lot of rules but if you can follow the rules I'll say go with allied. Especially if you're armed security.. you'll be set!

Best of luck!

If you're currently in Philadelphia, try Penn Medicine, they're pretty good with a good benefits package, a 403B, vacation, personal, & sick time as well as overtime.
