Then how would republicans try to suppress votes?
Is a B.A. in Hyperbole a prereq for your job, CI1?
Honestly waiting to see MAGA people's argument against this.

In civilized countries, voting day is on a Sunday, when most people aren't working.
Just move President’s day to November. Most people couldn’t even tell you when it is. It’s supposed to celebrate Washington’s Birthday and it can never even fall on his actual Birthday. Also what better way to celebrate past presidents than by voting.
Presidents’ Day is a federal holiday and a state holiday in nearly every state, so many federal and state employees get off for it. This also opens up places likes schools to be used more as polling places. It’s not perfect, but it’s certainly a start. I am more annoyed that it can only fall from February 15th to the 21st, but Washington’s Birthday was on the 22nd.

Many countries just vote on Sunday.

Yes gawd

Yes, either that or on the weekend.
What about compulsory voting? I'm for it.

Other counties do it just fine. Usually compulsory just means a nominal higher tax for non-voters, at least in examples I’ve seen. So you remember to vote to snag that $50 credit.
Voting in Australia is 95% instead of 45% prior to using the system. You also vote weekends not a weekday.

Give me the day after the Super Bowl, this hasn’t been a Democracy for years lol

Our constitutional republic is a form of democracy. I hate that tedious conservative talking point.

There is absolutely no reason not to. We talk about how voting is a duty and pay it all this lip service, but when it comes down to it, we are fine with leaving or even erecting barriers to actually performing it!
I think most states have laws that require employers to give you time off to vote. Also, don’t know a single employer that doesn’t encourage voting on Election Day...
Yeah maybe the employers represented on here. Not so sure about smaller employers with workers on hourly wages etc
