Joining Ford a quarter back from a reputed financial firm, I can say for sure that Ford is no where close to the brut layoff scenarios happening outside. Not sure if people are being assigned irrelevant tasks or 10x work to push them out but even if this is happening, this is a strategy from last decade to reduce headcount!! And that tells us where Ford is in this game of layoff. In the companies out there- The leaders wake up every morning and randomly choose a number and layoff that many people that day with no severance package. It’s ruthless and I’ve seen it happen. As far as the GP’s email- Yes, it’s a subtle advice for us to embrace AI as early as possible to master it and not become a victim of it. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone and there is no hidden agenda. Also on the statement- on no new recruitment- Be happy that they are aiming to maintain the current count and not going for a headcount reduction like other companies to show profits. Above all don’t forget the 130% BPF.. I am sure none of us in our wildest dream would have dreamt about this number. Having said that, be also warned that this may not continue forever given the current world economics. So make hay while there is still sunshine and not worry too much!! :)

Yepp.. Ford is being very considerate, the pressure first comes on the LL05s/ LL06s..
Ford is a little people friendly and doesn't do a mass layoff except for a huge losses or some bad leader in the organisation, who thinks themselves as disruptive or does this for their own agenda.,,
This year BPF is more of quality improvement across our vehicles and reduction of warranty cost. Next year company should push on revenue and profits too, I don't know how Ford is coping with cancellation of FNV4 and losses it created, also the program cancellations of 2027/8/9 with no big releases except for the UEV strategy (hoping this would be a huge hit)

I joined on december but I feel they aren’t going to layoff right away but first put pressure on ppl to see a few moving out.. maybe post that they will start cutting heads
