I finally landed an offer, and the salary they presented is actually excellent. It hits my target and is totally fair for the work. I'm happy with it. Do I risk leaving money on the table if I don't negotiate? Or is it smarter to just happily accept an offer that's above board and fair?

Provided you haven’t accepted their initial offer yet, then you def should negotiate up a bit. But not so much that it would be off putting.

I’d frame it something like this “regarding the salary, I think we are very close, I'm hoping the team would kindly consider a base salary of $X. Respectfully, I would be comfortable and excited to move forward.”

smart

You don’t have to negotiate salary, but it’s still smart to check the total package before you accept. Sometimes there’s more value you can unlock without touching the base pay like PTO, flex days, sign on bonus.

like

Always negotiate, it may not be the salary but what about assigning bonus or your PTO hours everything’s negotiable.

Sometimes the smartest move is to accept a great offer and start the job on a good note. Negotiating isn’t mandatory if your needs are already met.

ALWAYS Negotiate. No matter what. Never take the first offer. I’ve been in a situation where I had gotten an offer after applying for more than 50jobs and was unemployed. I still negotiated and got 5k extra.

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

What's the best form of compensation to ask for and why?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:

Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

What are tips for salary negotiations? I'm fairly new to my registered representative role so I'm not sure if that'll impact my ability to negotiate? Any insights or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.
