Time in market > timing the market
What is “the market?” S&P? NASDAQ? Dow? Your own personal basket of stocks?
Betting on the right stocks can give you 100%+ returns within a year. Buy and hold hopes for 7% per year

I can’t suggest enough a buy and hold (and continue to invest) strategy for the long term. Especially in a retirement wrapper where time is on your side.
If you feel the itch to try and time market, play individual stocks, etc break off a separate and small piece of your portfolio to scratch that itch then go back and reassess in a couple years if that should be more/less of your approach.
People start to get major FOMO these days when others talk about cashing out right before the market tanked with COVID, making a killing in Tesla, bitcoin a couple years ago, etc
Just a reminder that people tend to publicize their winners and hide their losers... there are plenty of people who have been waiting for a big drop these last couple months and have missed out on a massive run up.
Just buy and hold baby
