You can hate the firm but still like the people. Wholesale ignoring everyone, including good friends, does not sound healthy.
For those you considered friends, I would reach out to them and have a conversation. A true friend will take the time to talk with you about your sorrows and disappointments. You never know where that connection could lead you!
I could have written this myself. I’m going to go against the grain here and say it’s ok to take time for yourself to heal. Bad experiences at the work place can be traumatic, and wanting to put as much distance between you and those events is a natural response. You’ll likely want to seek therapy to work through what happened. All in all, I get it. You’re not alone. If some of your past coworkers are good friends, then they’ll understand why you needed time away.

If a clean break was what you needed then don't feel like you need to contact your friends. Communicating with people that are associated with a traumatic experience can do more harm than good for you. It's possible contacting them would be for their benefit not yours.
I would keep in touch only with those who left that firm, too. You can then both speak more freely.
