I think it opens you up to all kinds of issues. I firmly believe in not putting a photo on your resume. You can include a link to your LinkedIn, but space on the resume is better spent on details related to the role.
Personally would advise against the photo. Name the instant bias elemt that it introduces, but also it doesn't print well. I suppose of you're going for a specific field like acting or soemthing, but in the vast majority of other careers it is not the norm.
You bring up a good point, some people think it unprofessional to use a photo, especially if you're playing on age and looks.
Include a photo if doing any kind of biz dev or sales, I think it's important. Having a polished presence and good headshot does count
I personally would rather have more real estate to add accomplishments and skills than include a picture of myself. Companies are hiring you for your contributions, not your looks.
you be surprised

I think it's really just personal preference. There are some roles that will specifically ask for a resume with phot (from what I've seen on job listings) but it's up to you. Personally I don't do this
I would never use a photo on the resume and have been cautioned against this. Provide your LinkedIn profile url and they can see it there.
