I’m an HR Generalist. My job is a mix of recruitment and Employee Relations. I find the recruitment aspect to be pretty enjoyable and stress free, but the Employee Relations aspect does often give me a lot of anxiety (I’m a very anxious person to begin with). Recently, it’s been worse because I have several ER cases currently that seem like they could be potentially turning into lawsuits. Do others in ER experience these anxieties? If so, how do you manage them?

For the life of me, I do not understand why when I tell people that I’m Nigerian, they mention some irrelevant detail about a trip they took to Kenya or a friend they know from Angola. Ma’am/sir, if you told me you were from the USA and I mentioned that I have a friend in Canada, wouldn’t you think I was unwell?? 😂
