What is salary range for experienced Tax MD from Big 4 at mid-tier firm like BDO? Anyone made the move? Regrets? Recommendations? advice for offer negotiations?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Anyone here a member of Revenue Collective? Is it worth it? What kind of value have you gotten out of it if so? Thanks!
How do you calculate your day rate? What is a normal day rate for a mid/senior broadcast producer (8th year in the industry) in NYC? Thanks!
Made it past the 4th and final round of a job interview and was completely ghosted by the company. It happens. But it made me think - is online dating app culture seeping into corporate culture?
can't wait for next year's DDB hit "The Uncensored TikTok Dance". And don't miss 2023's Cannes contender "The Uncensored Sneaker". What Uncensored medium will 2024 bring?
I might…hate advertising? Now what?
Anecdotally—just going by posts Im seeing here and twitter, linked in etc—I think this really might be the year the industry starts generally considering awards to be…pick your word…. bullshit/obsolete/useless/paid for/ not worth it/jacked up/a cash grab…like actual younger creatives seem to be seeing it. And theyre the prime audience for awards as a business.
Looking for a startup that can use brand/digital/social/content strategy help working remotely. I am a hardworking, roll-up-my-sleeves kind of strategist with 20 years experience. People tell me I am an ideal combo of analytical and intuitive. Anything leads would be greatly appreciated.
Hi! For the folks who have recently took the SHRM-CP exam this year, how would you describe the test and any tips you can provide would be helpful!
At what point in the day do you consider it “after hours” and don’t feel pressured to work/look at emails?
The slack ring is an anxiety trigger. I have nightmares where I hear the sound over and over and over. Then I wake up and it’s all I hear all day.
I just got into reading books, any suggestions to start with? Which could help to increase media/marketing knowledge.
I’m looking for a screening tool that will assess a candidate’s proficiency with MS-Teams. Would anyone know if there is such a thing that exists?
Just had my 3rd interview last Thursday, with my potential AD partner. Haven’t heard anything back since. Should I assume they’ve moved on or is this pretty normal? They rushed me through all the interviews and the first CD gave my book more compliments than Ive had in an interview, so part of me thought it’d be quicker. Dying to find FT now as freelancing for the last year has been rough.
Has anyone here seen Happyish?
Has anyone switched from a corporate to the firm that audits them for a non-audit role? Are audit partners required to inform the head of client about the ongoing interview before being able to give out an offer? How does the head of client usually handle that information? Any impact if you end up staying, taking the offer from this firm or a different company? Thanks in advance!
I’m a 2016 grad making $120k in a small to mid-size regional firm. I’m based in Nashville. My firm’s management is trying to survey other small to mid-size regional firms to get a feel for where the comp is now, especially in light of the big law increases that are making headlines, and to see just how far below market we may have fallen. Any additional data points from smaller regional firms (especially if you have a presence in Nashville or across the SE) would be appreciated! TIA
Got an offer to exit to an awesome smaller SaaS company with an amazing culture. They were a top choice out of all the companies I was interviewing with and the role is exactly what I want to be doing. Offer came in at $152k base with $67k RSUs. Team seems great and I had a really good vibe with the hiring manager. Only con is I have to relocate to the Bay Area. Currently 3.5 YOE in analytics consulting at ACN (S&C) at $102k base, but low cost of living. I’d be stupid not to take it, right?
Do you get a promotion as per normal cycle or do you have to apply to be promoted, and solve a case study and present to a panel as part of it. I’ve been told if I want to get promoted I should apply to a job that my team just posted, but I don’t understand why they would need me to solve a case and present to prove my capabilities ? They have two years of data on me and my performance anyway and prior to this job posting they had been saying I would get promoted before eoy 2021.
What are the day to day responsibilities and core competencies of good lifecycle messaging managers? I just inherited the role from someone leaving my company and want to operate at a high level until we find someone new.
Does anyone know what will the salary of an associate analyst after 2 years Joining is 3.25 pa
With the Marriott/SPG merger, will the nights from stays at both brands from this year be combined in August and count towards status next year? Or do I still need to commit to one for now?
What got you fired or almost fired?
What are the reputations of FAANG companies as places to work? What are your preferences of which firms you’d want to work for/not work for?
Do recruiters or interviewers typically outright ask where else you are interviewing? Or is that out of the norm?
At what point is it considered optimal to make the jump from Big4 to FAANG? I've been a Tech Consultant at EY for a little under a year and, while I like the company very much, I do very little actual technical work. Experienced hire, Senior, 130k base. I'm very tempted to jump over to Amazon (despite their reputation for frugality). Do I attempt to make the switch now or wait until I get promoted to Manager?
Is it too late to buy the FAANG stocks? Still feel that Amazon and Google are undervalued.
Solo who started pre-pandemic and as a result never transitioned into a traditional office setting. I enjoy work from home and it keeps overhead obviously low. I can afford to move into an office now (and planned to do so last spring before the shutdown). I find myself hesitating to make the leap. I’ve found most clients prefer zoom consultations or house calls. I practice in PI and cannabis. Curious to hear others’ thoughts on the necessity of a brick and mortar post pandemic. Thanks.
Taxes question. Got a 10k signing bonus, only got about 6k after taxes. Will I get any of that back next year when I do my taxes? If so how much should I expect?
Been a FA for 10 years, but during COVID figured out that this advisory role was built on sand. Current clients arent able to sustain production. What should I do?
Anyone here trying to plan a college graduate’s stay at home graduation celebration? What are your ideas? Beyond a nice dinner, champagne, zoom w their friends and maybe balloons I’m not sure what else to organize. Any ideas v appreciated!
As everyone knows, Deloitte (US) has given an option to its employees for permanent WFH. Can we expect a similar option from Deloitte USI or the other offshore units in India? Please let me know your ideas.
