I have always been the go to person at work. If they needed someone to come in and cover a shift they call me. If they needed someone to swap shifts with or fix a problem in the scheduling, I have an open availability so they call me. The one time I needed to be off and no one called or asked anyone to cover my shift so I called out. I won’t allow that to happen again this year.
Is there anyone that’s the go to person at their job?

I learned this the hard way I think the same way that you did. I was always happy to be flexible and take shifts where I could, but I never received the same help the rare times I needed to change shifts. I am way less helpful now and only take extra shifts because I want the money, I won't trade shifts.

That has always been me as well. But I realized in 2025 that I scratch everyone else's backs but when I need them to return the favor, nobody is around. I stopped going out of my way to do things for people.

Right I hate we had to learn this the hard way

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?
