Back office at BCG will be the same as back office at any other professional service organization. Would you take a job in internal accounting at BDO?
That's a different scenario. Sounds like you want to be a consultant. I think the road will be hard.. in terms of getting your foot in the door and impressing your way into a consulting role. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it might be easier for you to transition to BDO consulting and move on to more prestigious consulting firms. Just my thoughts.
Ask him to find out if that is a possibility. If not, then no mulling necessary
I think you’re qualified for a front office role there if you present it properly.
Haha EY1 I don’t have the energy or $ to do that shit again. @AM1 so you think it would be a similar career path as if I went into an internal accounting function at BDO?
If you’re gonna be at bcg, I would think you’d want to be front office. Stay at BDO
If your end game is to move into a consultant role, don’t hold your breath. That said, BCG is a great company to work for with unbelievable benefits and decent back office pay structure. Just don’t think you’re leaving the accounting department if you go
Does anyone have any insight into what CPAs roles are at a consulting firm like this? I know I won’t be paid Nearly as well as consultants but is this a good opportunity? Anyone have any first hand experience? I’m a first year senior in assurance.
Go to a T15 or M7 school and let you buddy get you a consultant role
It may be a good opp for you to get your foot in the door with transferable skills and then internally jump into a consulting role after a year or so of experience if you wanna go that route.
My thought was that if I get my foot in the door as a back office mule I could somehow transition into front office. I’ll mull it over a bit more
