6 weeks PTO?! Unheard of. That PTO is key to work life balance as far as I’m concerned. I’d give anything for more time off than the 10 days I get per year.
I’d make them push me out the door if I were you!!! I understand this new job “interests” you but you have a very sweet situation! Find what interests you “outside “ of your career and use your income as a way to fund your passion outside of work! Just my opinion.
Current salary $100,000 working 35 Hours per week and 6 weeks of PTO. Straightforward forward math. Losing 4 weeks of PTO and working an additional 5 hours per week you would need to make $124,223.60. But, that doesn't take fuel, drive time, or work life balance into account. You need to make over $155,000 for this to make sense. The only exception would be if this were for job security and advancement in a field you actually want to be in.
So, why are you leaving?
The new position I found is something that really interests me, with a well respected organization, and more money . There have been a lot of changes with my current employer, freezing all raises and a hiring freeze, I’m uncertain about their financial future, a change in leadership that I don’t love, and I’m no longer doing the job I was hired to do.
It does beg the question as to why you want to leave and how much that is worth it to you. It is very difficult to calculate non-salary perks, depending on how much they mean to you.
Got it, that is a tougher scenario. Try to move into something that feels more stable or limp along with the current decent-ish company and hope for the best. I would start writing out all the good/bad currently and the potential, and then start ranking each.
Never leave this place)) I do not think you will find a place that pays 40hr salary for working 35 hrs (basically your FT salary is 115k), working remote - just 1 day from office, it is minutes of drive and 6 weeks PTO is golden! Never knew there was such thing!
Sometimes you have to consider money, growth and upside versus accrued PTO perks, being comfortable, close commute, etc. If you feel your current role and company isn't going to be around in 2-4 years, better to move now than later. If you have kids/family versus single, that's another variable to consider. Point is, there's no easy equation for this. I'd ask, how much money do you need to make to move for a new role? Goodluck.

Perks currently sound fantastic! I think it’s a bit of how much is it worth to you that you need to answer to do the calls but you could try to assign dollar values to the extra time and less commuting etc
Why do you want a new job ?
Never Mind. I read your explanation for leaving your current and it does make sense, but you do need a better different job and that's what thre me off 😉
Gonna be hard to top that deal. You will have to prioritize and decide. I left a similar, not quite as good situation, because my new boss post lay off wasn't going to work for my work style and I didn't want the tension, amongst other reasons. It all boils down to what you prioritize and how you want to develop, but decent salary, wfh, and 6 weeks pto is strong.
