Don’t quit until you have an offer and you’re being onboarded
Definitely don't quit yet, your chances of landing a role are way better if you are currently employed. I think more than anything you'll want to rely on your network. Partners will know which clients are hiring, so I think being smart about how you work with the people you already know will help you a lot.
Go through a reputable recruiter
I would use your network and/or respond to any LinkedIn requests that seem interesting to you. Also, reach out to people you trust who have switched to industry and see if they recommend a specific recruiter or if they have enjoyed their current job and whether their companies are hiring. Tbh, a lot of audit partners don’t really know what they’re recommending since they’ve typically only been in audit. Also, there might be some independence issues if you join an audit client.
