I just spent my entire lunch break waiting for a recruiter who never logged on, and I haven't received any follow-up or apology from them either. I'm trying not to take it personally, but it seems really unprofessional. Is it normal for recruiters to skip out on confirmed calls like this?

This is the new HR: All automation & no accountability. If you can’t even show up for a scheduled call, you’re not ‘busy’—you’re just broadcasting that candidates aren’t worth basic courtesy.
This happened to me last week. HR ghosted the first call, sent a rejection before the rescheduled one, and then magically remembered how to dial a phone once I’d already moved on. Wild times. Luckily, I was in an interview with a company that actually showed up with a offer.

Today I had a “fantastic” experience. I applied for an entry-level job that was a side step from my previous work and got an interview scheduled. I prepared carefully, including a short explanation of how my background applies even if not directly. When I arrived, they asked for my resume, looked at it briefly, and immediately said “no match,” ending the conversation on the spot, even though I had already applied with that same resume.

I’m new on the job search and still employed. I’m looking to grow further in the logistics industry. While I look for work, it’s a bit discouraging seeing how hundreds of people apply for positions I see on LinkedIn. I still apply because you never know and AI plays a huge effect in selections. I currently working as project coordinator (on-site) for 3 months 10hrs everyday with package $75k, I want to move to remote or hybrid work but I only have 8 months of experience from my previous employer and I have completed my master's in construction management in 2021.
