Hi everyone. I’m trying to transition from working at a non-profit to a more profitable position within research. My current title at my org is as a CR-assistant. Any suggestions of good transitional positions within clinical research? (That could be done remotely). Thank you!!

CS and SWE is great in that it can be applicable to a great range of fields, to create immensely helpful tools for other things.

What are some areas where SWE intersects with things that help people, country, and the world? Now also add in making a decent living and generally competitive with other SWE “industry”.

Things that come to my mind are government-related, military, some fintech. Sciences have great need of computing, and can have big impact, but income is less clear.

Hi fishes, Need your help in deciding.
I've 2 offers. One from
Goldman Sachs
for Analyst and other from Amazon for
SDE1. They both asked me for expected CTC.
For both I quoted 20lpa fixed and discussion is going on.
What do you think which figure should I agree on if they offer a counter. And which of the two you think is better to join considering brand value and career progression.

CCTC: 13lpa

Suppose you agree that the provided professional development offered through our districts is ineffective. Why not invest in your professional development by seeking a coach or mentor or even pay for professional resources that would help? To put it plainly, why don't we educators invest in our professional development?

Experienced Staff in Audit currently. I want to pivot into strategy/tech consulting, however, as the exit ops align better with what I’d like to set myself up for. Doing it at EY seems unlikely because of the anticipated split. I’ve been looking at jobs at Accenture, but wanted to see what other viable options are out here/ if anyone is willing to give me a referral. Happy to chat with anyone about their paths!

I was recently rejected for a position I was highly interested in and they rejected me based on my lack of experience with working for a bigger company. Otherwise, I know I was qualified. How can I prepare for my future interviews where I can show that I can successfully transition and handle more employees as an HR Generalist? I’m super bummed about this rejection but I know I need to continue applying…. ☹️

Do you have trouble putting a title to a risk, a risk is a combination of multiple factors as one equation (i.e Threat event, impact, likelihood, control strength etc.) And really doesn't have a title. A combination of factors are the unique risk.

In essence, the threat event is the title of the risk ? Thoughts?
