-Being around people who will keep you accountable
-changing your environment if your environment is enabling these sins
-going to therapy to help understand why you do what you do and having someone who can help you hold yourself accountable
-being steadfast in your prayers
-staying busy with positive habits and hobbies
Send salawat, its life changing. Try to consistently do 300 a day and you will see your life begin to change
I am in a similar situation. I have seen a couple of suggestions around doing a lot of Istighfar, asking Allah for help with staying away from those sins while acknowledging that we’re weak and that He makes us dislike those actions and makes it easy for us, praying involuntary prayers or fasting involuntary fasts. I guess we need to try to make conscious effort to get closer to Allah and that’s between you and Him so intentions are of paramount importance. It also depends on the kind of sin we’re talking about. Like I keep falling back to watching TV and movies and I have to find alternatives to those and it’s hard but would need to do
I am no expert, but you have to understand that this is the nature of the human, we are in a battle with our nafs until we die and the doors of repentance are not closed until then
Master repentance (genuine ones) while doing all what’s possible to avoid relapses
All very good comments above. What I’ve found to personally to help is reading 10-15 mins of Quran every day - it’s a nice reminder and habit that makes me think twice about sinning knowing that I’m going to pray/read the Quran
