He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.

I need advice from younger 🐠 who are closer to my son’s age than I am. He’s finishing up his 1st year in college and he’s gained the Freshman 15+. He plays a college sport, so he’s getting some activity, but with classes a hybrid of in-person and online, he’s not as active as usual and I think he’s enjoying unlimited food on his dining plan. Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

I have been researching into this these days and there is literature that shares how lending worked in pre-Islamic Arabia. When the time to pay back a loan came, the lender would ask "would you pay or will you increase?" And that increase was usually doubling the loan. Subsequently ever year the loan wasn't paid it was doubled from the previous year.
